Re: German Kugelpanzer
The paint destressing technique as described by Martin Kovac works really well once it’s toned down a bit with filters and oils. Not sure how it will look on a bigger subject, but I suspect a WWII Russian vehicle would be the next place to try this.
Not sure about a base and figure yet, I have the Tamiya “Recon” figure set so might grab one of the figures from there and give it a hornet head. I’ll see how this all goes first….

Re: German Kugelpanzer
German Kugelpanzer has had a dot filter which has really tied the distressing together.
The Russian Kugelpanzer is essentially done, I’m building a tiny little base for it (mainly to try out some techniques there too) and will then do final touches with pigments etc.

Re: German Kugelpanzer
Hey Steve, given the vehicle is a sphere I went for a round base. I’m using a jar lid, raised the centre up with some balsa and used some AK acrylic diorama paste to rough it out.
I bought a static grass dispenser off eBay a while back so want to depict the ball in a grassy area with some flattened grass behind it.
If it comes off OK I’ll do a bigger one with the German one and a figure

Base on a jar lid. AK Diorama acrylic paste, static grass, random ground scatter and sea grass. Primed in black, various airbrushed shades of green for the grass, ground based in Tamiya Buff and then washes of the same enamels I’ve used for the track mud on the Kugelpanzer. WIP
