Yeah, about that decal thing...
I'll try to do some touchups with a very fine brush once it's dry. If that won't help, it's stencil time.

I tried my luck with a very fine brush and thinned paints, I guess with some dust on top it won't look quite as terrible:

A couple of washes and some pigments will make ‘em blend in a bit
