Re: 2017 Group Build Pt. 1: Self Propelled Guns / Panzer 38(
I changed my vote from Anti Aircraft to to Self Propelled because I was told Self Propelled Anti Aircraft would be included.
Honestly it does not matter to me. I don't have the time to complete a build in 6 months anyways, so most likely I won't be participating. I have never completed a build in 6 months.
If I were to build something would I get credit for both the Self Propelled and the Panzer 38 catagories if I built this?

Hi Shawn
Great choice, is it a "paper Panzer?"
Is it available?
You have finished more "real" GB's than I have
Its the "taking part" that counts
I am going to try and build Out Of the Box, but my choice has slightly more parts than the Tamiya Pz II G,
My one and only finished ANYTHING!!!!
I appreciate you have a lot on, but your choice does look a straight forward build, no figures, no base
Looks like a cracking choice Shawn

If you can finish it in 6 months, definitely
If the time limit is an issue, how about something very simple? I know the Kettenkrad is tiny, but the superdetailing and the figures on your level would have taken me twice as long
Steve, the sIG 33 thingy on 38(t) was a late war project. I think they finished a handful in early 1945. The Dragon kit should come out any day now, we'll see how bad it is.

Re: 2017 Group Build Pt. 1: Self Propelled Guns / Panzer 38(
Steve- It a brand new release and it is available at a few placed right now. Somewhat pricey around $65.00.
I am not building this kit, just thought it was interesting how it could cover both GB at once. I wish it came with magic tracks, but at least it does not come with DS tracks. It has the section of track links, then some individual tracks to fit in between. I don't know what they are called.
Unfortunately I have a difficult time not including figures and I base.
Philipp- My Kettenkrad build will be done before the end of the year. I just need one or two days to finish it. The figures are actually done. Just a few odds and ends to finish up.

So, less than 3 days before the next group build starts. Cleared my bench of the T-55 AMV build (now complete final photos to come) before heading away. Back home on the 1st and will be sans family as I'm on call. If it's quiet I should get a running start!
I'm a serial kit starter....

I'll set up the sub-forums later today so everyone can jump right in on Sunday morning. If anyone is still able to

Thanks for the sub-forums Philipp even if I'm, for one, sure that I won't start Sunday
I finally made up my mind for the Panzershop resin kit of the Czech PRAM self-propelled 120mm mortar based on an extended BMP hull. It is not perfect but I'd hate seeing it released by Trumpeter before I finish it.
Or the other (more optimistic) way to see it is that as soon as I have completed it, it will be issued in plastic for the benefit of the whole community

Hi chaps,
Merry xmas and happy new year and all that stuff
So, i am confused. Is it Self Propelled Guns or Self Propelled Artillery now?
