Grumman F6F-3
Justins F4 gave me the drive to complete my last aircraft project which has just needed some final touches but got shelved due to the 70's build. Eduard F6F-3 with Ammo of Mig paints and panel liner. Exhaust staining is Tamiya "smoke" and some pigments. This is also a bit of a trial of my new photo booth set up!

Hi Adam,
Glad i could be of some help
That's really great. You're weathering is good and gets has beaten pacific war look. Nice paint fading too How did you do the chipping?
This little Grumman is a favourite of mine, only upstaged by the later Bearcat n my opinion. It's a chunky, solid and purposeful looking fighter.
We have a few closet aircraft modelers here. I personally would like to see some more aircraft (cause i know they build some really good ones) in the General forum

Re: Grumman F6F-3
Thanks Justin. I get the hankering to build an aircraft occasionally and I bought this one as a stocking stuffer with some other stuff from Hannants.
Fading was a result of some pre and post shading the I find Estapol Matt varnish gives everything a really "faded" appearance.
Chipping was brush and sponge.

I love these WW2 aircrafts - but I never seems to get past the cockpit build. Far too many details for my limited skills

Beautiful finish Adam!
As a 10 year old I absolutely loved WW2 USN aircraft. Brings back good memories of bad models

Looking at the number of aircraft being posted here we may have to change the name of the site....
