Good start Philipp and the list is something I do myself. I must be getting old.

Re: Academy M4A3E8
Thanks Vincent! I don't think I have an excuse, beging barely over 30 by now
Highlights and first gloss coat are on. The trailer is unrelated, except for the colour
Next highlights, gloss coat, decals, gloss coat, chipping fluid, whitewash, gloss coat, concrete and detail painting, oils, matte coat, pigments, done.
Yes, I'll better keep that updated just in case.....and also to atone for my younger self who thought a single layer of paint is perfectly fine

Re: Academy M4A3E8
Decals are on....judging from available photos the only visible markings were two stars in circles on the turret sides, which were conveniently included in the kit's decal sheet. They went on without any problems, but since they look rather worn on the pictures I had to make some....adjustments:

Re: Academy M4A3E8
Apologies for the delay - finding the time to do this properly proved a little difficult during the recent days...
I added the chipping fluid and then the whitewash on top. According to the instructions, you need to do this immediately after the chipping fluid has dried. We'll see how well it'll turn out this time
Feels weird to do a whitewash during the first heat wave of the year

Re: Academy M4A3E8
First test - it works, somewhat. It seems at least the gloss coat comes down with it, sometimes even all the paint down to the primer is worn away. I guess the whitewash reactivated some of these paints, so I'll better wait until it's completely dry again. I hope the chipping fluid will still cooperate at this stage.
Good thing there's a lot more weathering to come

Re: Academy M4A3E8
Philipp- I have never tried these chipping fluids even though I have some. I just seems like every time I see pics of this stuff being used the paint comes off in large chunks.
I may try it some day, if not good old fashion hairspray with Tamiya paints mixed with water works great for me.

Re: Academy M4A3E8
Vincent recommended these to me a while ago. What he does with them usually looks better
I guess I did something wrong somewhere. I'll let the whole model soak in water for a while before I continue rubbing it off. If that doesn't help, there's still my old favourite sponge chipping...

Thanks Vlad
It's just a bit difficult to get the whitewash off again without taking the base colour with it....

I just dip my brush in water and let a little sit on the paint work, maybe yours is just a little too wet?
