Napoleonic wargames figures

Post by Vlad Seabrook-Smith »

As some of you know wargaming is another interest of mine, and I felt the urge recently to pick up some of my Napoleonic figures and get them across the finish line.
These are pre 1812 French, just flags to fit on two of the battalions.

Altogether here we have one line regiment, comprised of three battalions, six companies in each.

Three line artillery batteries each of 3 6Lb or 8Lb, and one howitzer. two of the batteries have limber support, the shopping list grows ever longer ;)
and three ammunition caissons.

I need to focus on these a little more as I am really pleased with how they turned out, and I have another 2-3000 all undercoated ready for painting

You have another 2-3000 figures to paint?! That is some serious detail painting in front of you Vlad. I do like how they have turned out though. :)

Good looking figures, Vlad :D

A real blast from the past for me, it's been an age since I played Napoleonic wargames.

A long journey, but a great start

Very nice ones

They look stunning Vlad! :D
Are those 15mm? Those figures gain extreme in impact from the sheer mass in which they are present - again: looks stunning. :D
I've been thinking about doing a couple of divisions for the Franco-Prussian war of 1870/71 for years now, but I somehow never get around to actually doing it - there are simply too many tanks and such   .

These are somewhat smaller than 15mm Raoul, try 6mm

And thank you for the kind words, on mass they look fantastic, I have another 23 battalions of French infantry, currently painting 3 battalions of the 3rd Swiss regt, same style and cut of uniform as the French but red and black in colour. They look quite dashing :D

Vlad - I can only agree - they look very impressive :D

That really is an awful lot of patience and painting. 1/35 must seem like being back in the land of giants!!

Impressive

Thanks guys, I know its not to everyone's cup of tea, but I thought I would share to display what takes me away from the 1/35th.

With reference to your above quote Rob, 1/35 is a figure scale I struggle with, small stuff no problem 8-)
