I've been keeping myself busy over the last few days....

Front: More bolts, naturally. Zvezda put a lot of rivets there and they all had to go...

The exhaust was an undetailed piece of junk and rebuilding 90% of it with Evergreen tubes was actually the easier option:

I used masking tape for the brackets, to make life a little bit easier...

Below the exhaust are brackets for a tow chain, I filled in the huge locator trenches because I'll be replacing these as well. Naturally.

Thank you Steve! It's a bit frustrating to find all those problems, but somehow looking at the improved end result feels really satisfying

Very impressive Philipp. :)
Adding all those bolts must have been a real test of your patience. It's been well worth the effort though. :D

Cheers,
Vincent

Thanks gentlemen :)

Took me long enough but I've finally completed the running gear:

Image

The link & lenght tracks are newer than the rest of the kit and were tooled for the 2010 reissue, before that it came with vinyl tracks. They actually look quite good and have a bit of pre-moulded sagging.

Image

The original Vickers 6-ton and early model T-26 had weird rubber wheels that didn't last very long. However, all but the very last batch of tanks sent to Spain had these wheels, so I had to replace the kit wheels with those from my Hobby Boss T-26. Except for a bit of cast texture and two bolts per bogie I didn't really change much.

Next are the fenders, let's see what new surprises await me

Hi all,

I can't say I've had much motivation to contine over the last few days....From the looks of things most of you feel the same I guess?

Inbetween staring at the news in disbelief I did manage to get most of the last few missing bits glued on...

The kit's tools are barely useable, so I resorted to various leftovers. Still need to add an axe, or at least its brackets.

I think a coat of primer will bring everything together Philipp. It's looking good. :)

Like me, I'm sure everyone is concerned about the situation in Ukraine and its impact on innocent people. I find it hard to get excited about building a model at the moment. :(

Disbelief is one way to describe the current situation, and no motivation is also another.regarding our hobby.

Many of the forums I browse have a "No Politics" mantra which is fastidiously maintained by the moderators.

This is a potentially life changing event, not just for Europe but the whole world.

Anna's father was born in the Ukraine in 1924, he passed 12 years ago, I am sure you can understand why we are both very focused on what is happening.

All we can do is hope and pray it ends as soon as possible with as few further deaths on both sides, as this isn't the fault of anyone else but one man.

The model looks great Philipp, a coat of primer will tie it all together.
:(
Like everyone else I’ve got no motivation at the moment. NZ has taken the breaks off and we are doing our Omicron surge, 25,000 cases per day at the moment but very few (13) deaths and very few hospitalizations. The Countries vax rate is now >95% so that’s helping to slow it a bit. Totally eclipsed by what’s going on in the Ukraine, seems a bit surreal from down here at the bottom of the world…
