Dragon 6330 Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. D mit 7.5cm Kw.K.40 L/43

Post by Steve Hutchinson »

Good morning/afternoon/evening gents

its another GB and looking at the lack of icons it could be another resounding miss!

So here we go, again!

Image

And after some pottering about since I opened the box

Image

My first Pz IV build in 9 years not counting the last GB with a nearly painted Pz IV G.

I shall try to get the Pz IV done for the dead line and then some little tweaks if there is enough time

We shall see

More soon?

Regards

Excellent choice Steve! I had the same tank in mind, but with my recent build I had a bit of Panzer IV fatigue...

The fact that there's a pre/early war tank behind all those upgrades has always fascinated me. Too bad there's not a lot of photos of them in action. Here's one from Italy, in case you haven't seen it yet:

Thanks Philipp, Vincent

I hadn't seen it, Bovington Tank Museum have one, though it has probably been tidied up with whatever bits were available.

Hi Vincent, its been a long period of no real motivation to model, just getting by with work and all the Covid issues in the UK.
We seem to be a long way behind Australia with 105,000+ deaths so far.

Its been a worrying and stressful time, but I got my first vaccination yesterday, so things are starting to turn the corner, slowly.

More soon?

Regards

Congrats on the vaccination. Around here my 91-year old grandpa is still waiting to get an appointment, while 16 little Tzars bicker with Mommy Merkel about the best measures and how to win the next elections despite their enormous idiocy...

Anyhow...the Bovington tank came from a German training area and belonged to the NSKK, a Nazi Party motorist's association that apparently also provided tank training for the Wehrmacht:

Well you are on the right track to finish it. That was some fast progress.

COVID sucks. I received my second dose of the vaccination last week. Everything was fine other than a sore arm.

Morning/afternoon/evening chaps

Thanks for popping by

I really didn't have much reaction to the vaccination Shawn, but the 2nd jab might be different?

Things are getting better for us all with the vaccines and for myself in particular as I have finally put in my notice at work to retire.

It has been on my mind since I returned to work last June after my 2nd replacement knee.

I wasn't enjoying it, and big part of that was working from home, surprisingly!

So, I shall be leaving in 3 weeks to start the next stage of life's mystery ride

Hopefully the time, shared between tarting the house up for sale, as we both need to move into a bungalow, and hopefully some hobby time?

Some progress to date, I have finished the Pz IV D upgunned kit and have been pottering with one of the MiniArt buildings as a backdrop.

I changed the front right hand side ground floor window into a doorway for a shop

Congrats on the retirement Steve! Best of luck for your next challenges, moving homes isn't what I would call a pleasant enterprise.

Nice progress on the Panzer IV! And it's always a pleasure to see a Miniart building :D
