Israeli M3 halftrack

Post by Jan Persson »

I am detecting a trend here 8-)

Will have a go at the DML M3 halftrack with 20 mm. cannon, probably a small base and a couple of figures, let's see how far the motivation holds up.

Construction started with the fine, little engine

Already here, there is a mistake in the instrucktions, fan is shown in wrong place but not a big problem.

Here's the finished block

The undercarriage is really detailed and the instructions are somewhat confusing in my opinion. I made some mistakes but think I managed to solve most of them. After some fiddling with small and fragile parts, I ended up with this

I would imagine, that the israeli wouldn't bother to paint the frame and undercarriage and therefor primed it in the original OD from the US army. Now for the detail painting and weathering, this should be fun and will look fantastic, at least I hope so  :?

That’s a good start Jan, it’s always a pity that a lot of the detail will be hidden under the hull ;)
