hi Adam
That definitely looks like a plane LOL
The body of a Wildcat but straight wings
Have fun masking, it took me ages but is quite therapeutic, once you have finished!
A cocktail stick and a fresh blade are a good starter
Have fun

Nice work on the Hellcat Adam.
Rescribing the panel lines must have been tricky on such a small model.

I won't take credit for "rescribing" the panel lines, I just did Gary Wickhams trick of deepening them all with a scriber so they won't disappear under the paint!

Paint on using Mig WWII Pacific Theatre set. Couple of coats of Klear and then decals. The Academy decals are very thick so sanded the edges slightly and a few more coats of Klear.
Panel line washes are Tamiya, grey for the dark blue and black for everything else

Hi Adam
That is a really nice paint and panel job, well done
Looks like you're nearly there and a good finish too.
Have fun with the last bits

How on earth do you sand decals?
Has the dark blue colour a slight metallic finish or is that an optical illusion? Either way, looks really good

I’ve got some polishing sponges and you buff the interface between the carrier film and the clear coat.
Just standard Mig paints, still a bit shiny from the Klear. I did preshading, but I’m way too heavy handed with airbrush so none of it shows through.
