Star wars X wing fighters

Post by Steve Hutchinson »

Afternoon.

I shall be building one and repainting the other into Po's fighter from the 3rd trilogy of Star Wars.

Hopefully both/either will be, between them OK for the GB?

Are you going to strip the T-70 back to bare metal before repainting? I am assuming it's die cast?

Hi Adam

there are apparently some casting marks to remove and a strip would a good starter.

Scott at Miniac just re-primed his, which seems a little rash as it really is small and I don't want to loose any detail.

The SBS video for the paintwork is really good too.

paint Po's X-wing fighter

I shall contemplate which route to take, but the spray booth in the garage is a little cold at 3 C, so it might not be this week?!

Morning Adam

I have watched the video several times and feel confident, so much so that the little X-wing has been taped up and all the mould lines removed and primed and base coated as per Scott's SBS.

Hi Woody

I need to sharpen my painting for 1:35 figures and heads so when I saw the Miniac SBS for this,

It was a simple fix for both the Sc-fi GB and my paint practise.

1/2 way there, the Star Wars Lego X-wing fighter done so a construction part next will be the X-wing mini paintwork

Hope you find some bench space soon

Regards

Yup, cleaning the bench today. Varnish is drying on the paint rack. Should be able to start putting paints in the rack tonight and making room for a build Image

Have you tried the Bandai Star Wars kits. The 1/72 scale stuff is stunning, as is all the rest. I have a few of the 1/72 X-Wings and Tie Fighters lurking in a box in the shed. Lots of 1/12 scale figures too.

Money is needed elsewhere right now, but i do want the 1/5000 Star Destroyer!
