Some very nice progress Adam :D

What's the dark stuff you added on the hull edges?

Not much room in the turret. Nice progress Adam.

Black primer. I sprayed the inside of the hill before installing the top deck as the inside may be visible through the engine deck, and the kit is moulded in a weird orangish plastic

PE in the set is nice, and just enough of it in the right places not to go overboard. The brush guards for the headlight clusters are well done and come together nicely over the little jig they provide. The heat shield for the exhaust was a little trickier as it needed bent in two planes, so in both cases (brush guards and heat shield) I heavily annealed the brass over a gas flame.

Most of the build is done, gave everything a bath in soapy water, and once dry I'll put some metal primer on the brass (Gunze). Hope to shoot primer tomorrow. I can't start too much on the track assembly until the wheels are on, but at three pieces per link and 72-76links per side, there is a bit of clean up to do! :(

Great work on the PE Adam. This is a little more delicate than putting bones back in place. :lol:

Glacis plate all done;

I replaced the kit thread with wire for the tow cable. This necessitated changing the kit tow cable stowage hooks with brass wire. The kit plans show the left side light cluster around the wrong way. The headlight should be outboard. I only realised it too late when I tried to fit the brush guard. I've accepted its wrong, trimmed the small light off the top of the cluster to make it fit, and mentally moved on ;)

All the subassemblies waiting for primer;

Just realised I'm out of Chaos Black. In NZ we can't just order some up during lockdown as the couriers are all busy delivering "essential" goods. I have some Army Painter grey in a rattle can, but with all the deep crevices I need black. Looks like I'm actually going to have to put some effort in and use AK Black primer through an airbrush :D

Good job on the PE. This really is a dreaded step for me especially when you are required to bend parts in perfect curves without a jig.

Enjoy the painting with or without black ;)

Ended up using AK Black primer with some drying retarder through my airbrush. Dried very smooth overnight and allowed me to shoot the OD today. I’m using the AK 4 colour “basic” OD modulation set. I’ve base coated in “light base”, and used “highlights” on the upper hull and “base” on the running gear. The “OD shadows” is almost black so have not used it.

No pics, nothing to see really until I add decals etc. :D

Looking for some advice,

- What color would you paint the 40mm barrels?

The kit says “Steel”. I’ve mixed a gunmetal black colour using polished metal and satin black from AK but I’m not happy.
