Re: Kugelblitz
Well as always its been awhile since I have posted anything, but I have been checking in from time to time. The build really looks good and its nice to see you adding a figure. IMHO it brings a sense of realism to the model.

Re: Kugelblitz
Thank you Shawn!
I think the figure adds an element of scale, without it it's just a weird piece of plastic. Of course the placement is by no means final

Hey Boss, looks good!
Maybe a little more backward head tilt for the figure? A bit more of a skywards gaze?
Of course he could be scanning for ground hugging low flying planes seeking to evade detection...
Just thought looking up might tie in a little better with the gun elevation?
Always nice to add a figure for scale reference.

Re: Kugelblitz
Thanks my loyal subject
I see what you mean. If I tilt the head back further he'd be looking at his hand...regrettably the arm doesn't leave much room for adjustment. Lowering the turret would be easier

Re: Kugelblitz
Track heresy? Are you using those DS tracks?
How about some Ostketten?
You would think you would see more of these built with the rising popularity in Panzer 46 stuff.

Re: Kugelblitz
I confess!
I got these from a Dragon Sturmpanzer IV kit, which has a lot more need for some really nice tracks than this old bucket. Besides, these are from the time when DS tracks were still new, so there's almost no flash, the teeth aren't bent and most importantly they didn't disintegrate while still in the original packaging. I hope they stay that way
In theory they are long enough to create some sag if I manage to properly fix them to the wheels with lots of glue.
Sounds good, if only I had someBryan Krueger wrote:How about some Ostketten?
I guess the old kit I used isn't really up to speed and the new Dragon kit is both expensive and often sold out, so I guess there's not much available at the moment. I hope Rye Field makes another version with their new Panzer IV kit now available. This one is another big step ahead even compared to the newer Dragon kits.Bryan Krueger wrote:You would think you would see more of these built with the rising popularity in Panzer 46 stuff.

Re: Kugelblitz
And here we are again, with a slight delay due to a ruptured airbrush hose.
I've decided on a mix-and-match two colour scheme, my reasoning being that the hulls and superstructure were based on different contracts. And while it's safe to assume the repurposed Möbelwagen hulls were still delivered in dark yellow, the newly made Kugelblitz superstructures and turrets could have already been in the new dark green base colour. The original photo I linked back in the beginning doesn't really indicate any particular paint scheme and the surviving parts are either repainted or rusted beyond recognition.

I think your reasoning is entirely valid. It will also add interest to the model

Now that's something I haven't seen before. Makes perfect sense though Philipp. Great start on the paint.

Morning Philipp
Sensible and a nice change of pace from such complex Late war ""Octopus"" style complex camo schemes.
Looks like you'll be finished soon?
Tracks, base? figures?
Have fun with the weathering
Regards
