Dragon 1:35 Pz I 200 mm Flak 38 with PE
Morning all
The photos will be a mixed bag as I still don't seem to have a reasonable image platform.
The kit
The tub is only as big as the Voyager PE box!
The majority of the plastic seems to be needed according to the instructions!
lots of plastic with a full interior, ammo trailer and none magic, none DS track links on 2 sprues.
15 sprues of parts and PE too, 20 assembly stages with the kit instructions.
6 pages of instructions with the Voyager PE set
So a simple quick build LOL
Lets see what 2020 and another GB brings!
More soon?

There’s a lot of plastic and brass to squeeze into that tiny tub!

There certainly is Adam
Stage 1?
not a great photo, 3rd attempt, sorry!
The 3 items to build are?
1st isn't in the build plans, that I can see?
The 2nd isn't either! but does have a use, unlike the 1st, which is indescribable!
And it has a PE replacement too, though I doubt I shall be making brass 1:35 scale 20 mm shell magazines!
The 3rd sits on the rear deck and returns to the build sequence much later on!
Thats stage 1 done!, the next stages are more traditional, the tub and running gear, with some PE bits.
Back soon?

Hi Steve,
very nice subject! I have the Tristar kit, so I'm curios how they compare!
The weird thing in step 1 shows up again in the marking options. Could be a tool for loading magazines? Looks like you don't need the spare barrel container either, because there's another with mounting brackets for the engine deck.

Morning Philipp
Tristar Flakpanzer I
it should be a good kit to build.
My experience of Tristar Pz I's has been the tub is a multiple part construction rather than a preformed tub.
The detail can be a little soft, but it seems it will be just as good as the dragon build.
have fun
Time to get started

Re: Dragon 1:35 Pz I 200 mm Flak 38 with PE
Thanks Vincent, Mark
I love Pz I's and need to keep building them whilst I still can!
A little progress with stage 2 of the instructions, which is still the traditional tank route, tub and wheels
Sprue attachment points on the drive wheels are a b#tch,
I shall attempt to assemble the tracks and fix them to the running gear which will then be removable as a single piece.
This will allow painting and weathering to be much easier and will be less fiddly than having the tracks, wheels and attachment arms all as separate pieces.
That will be a challenge after removing the track links, which have 5 attachment points on each link! Grr!!!
Shame they weren't magic tracks!
More soon?
Its the interior next, lovely

Re: Dragon 1:35 Pz I 200 mm Flak 38 with PE
A little progress
Steps 3 and 4
The extra thin glue splashes do disappear under paint.
You really wont see much of the interior but I shall make an attempt to paint and weather it up once its completed
The detail is basic but as you cant see it no point over doing the super detailing!
I do have 2 full PE and resin interior sets, for other projects.

More than enough detail there once it’s all painted, especially if it’s only going to be visible through hatches
