Re: Miniart T-70
Of course our dog is horrified by a car ride, I dare not imagine what a tank would be like
By the way, I happened to stumble across this photo. Photographic proof of an Irish Setter with a T-70 unit somewhere on the Eastern Front

I like this a lot Philipp. This must be the first GB where all projects started will be completed on time!

Re: Miniart T-70
Thank you gents!
Still a base to make and a figure to finish, besides dusting up the T-70 itself. Possible to do that within the remaining week, but it will be hard fight... Oh well, that's how I got through university
Current state of affairs: Crewman primed , crewdog finished
I have something planned for the Great War GB, but I won't start anything new until the T-70 is done. In addition I might yet build the VW Beetle as an extra for my Tiger dio, since it's not insanely large enough already

Re: Miniart T-70
Let's have a little dust....because we don't have enough dust outside in Hessian Death Valley (up to 36C are expected this week...)
I wanted to get the tracks weathered as well, but these things just keep snapping apart at the slightest handling. Oh well, tomorrow...

Re: Miniart T-70
I started fitting the tracks this evening and once again they ended up exactly one link short despite having been fitted without problems before painting. I really don't know if I should call a physicist or an exorcist to solve this mystery...
More results tomorrow I hope.
Did I mention it's still 26.5 C (~80F) outside at 11:30 PM?

Hot stuff Philipp
What the ****?
That has happened to me before too, figured I lost a track somewhere and moved on!
Perhaps the cumulative effect of a micro layer of paint then washes and pigments on dozens of tracks
makes it just that bit thicker and requires an extra link?
Its quite mystery
Still time to get over the finish line
See you there
regards

Re: Miniart T-70
Oh well...must be some quantum entanglement side effects on the subatomic level....they explain everything with that these days, right?
Anyhow, I didn't believe it myself but it seems there is a slight chance of actually finishing it in time:
The tank itself is mostly finished, the lower hull could use a little more dirt though.
The base is making progress too. I'll put some ground up soil on top to get a realistic surface, worked fine for me in the past.
Philipp
Note to self: get more dirt.
