Opps again
Thanks Raoul
And here we are with this one
As this is such a big canvas, I shall weather with oils
Still have the rest of 2018, so should get finished?
More soon?

Lots of big flat areas to add interest to. Struggled with the same thing on the Tortoise which just looked like a big green blob. Oils and stowage are the solution
.
Adam Wilders YouTube videos are a great source for working with oils.

Oils are great for providing variety on paint Steve. I swear by them, though sometimes I do swear
at them too.

It's coming along nicely Steve!
If you want to further break up the colour a bit before weathering you could add some highlights with thinned buff on top. Or maybe you already did and I can't see it on my phone display

You are right Philipp
The original colour was too green for yellow
So I washed it with a very thin base coat of the base colour, so highlights are due up again
I have a bigger window for completion, so it will rested for a while.
More soon?

Very nicely done Steve
- If you are still enslaved by the windows and assorted household matters let me suggest to do a very soft and unobtrusive dry brushing with buff or the highlight colour of the set - nothing like the insanely overdone Verlinden methodology, just for the highlights, will be automatically toned down by the oils anyway.
Best regards

Thanks Raoul,
Very late update, but just in time?
I have some photos of my first attempt at the oil paint render, a'la Rinaldi
Not sure how it went, I still feel in two minds as to whether it was successful or not.
There will be more as in a base and figures, but here she is
A starter of one view with different lighting, before and after
and some more, the SturmTiger will be abandoned on building rubble which has created the off set run off of rain and general dust marking.
The barrel and mantel needs some tidying up, then its more or less done?
See anything else?
Just let me know
Thanks
Steve H
