Tiger Models Nagmachon DogHouse Early 4624
Breaking my first New Years resolution! My wife got me this as a Christmas present and I needed something for a lunch build so here we go. First looks seemed nice. However, they can be deceiving as well. I like to assemble as much of the hull as possible first. There were some heavy mold seams on the lower tub and the rear plate has 8 raised ejector pin marks and 5 holes (4 round, one oblong) you have to fill. So after putting in cut rod I moved to the doghouse. The main cabin is nicely molded and comes in it's own protective carrier. To this you add four separate panels and here is where I lost it. Each panel has 4 sunken ejector pin marks that you have to fill and sand plus the fit is not that tight. Based on fitting I am going to need filler and sanding. This just boggles my mind. I am not a rocket scientist but there had to have been a better way to make this part than the way Tiger did it. I have already ordered the gorgeous looking TMD distressed Centurion wheels and a set of Panzerart Merk IV wheels so I am really hoping I can overcome this issue.

This may end up in the Garbage can! As I was working today, I found that each side of the raised light armor panels have 11 ejector pin marks on them as well!! I did a HobbyBoss search and their plastic has no ejector pin marks in the outside surfaces but their doghouse appears to have a dramatic downward slop to it.

Part of me wants to order the HobbyBoss kit (better in some instances but lacking in others) and bash but the other says....toe the line!

Very nice progress!
I guess you would get the best of both worlds with a combination of these kits...maybe combine the leftovers into a destroyed wreck?

There are 2 in box reviews on Aromorama...
HoobyBoss - http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?op= ... t&id=12323
Tiger Model - http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?op= ... t&id=13657
IIRC the big differences are that the HobbyBoss kit is not riddled with visible ejector pin marks but does not come with the prominent skirt chains or the colored armored glass. That was a big decision to me when telling the wife what kit i preferred. Both kits come with the two part roadwheels and link link track so that equaled out. The HobbyBoss does come with the later HEAVY track shoes though and the roadwheels do appear more realistic than the two options you get with the Tiger Model kit.

Re: Tiger Models Nagmachon DogHouse Early 4624
Spent yesterday's lunch filling ejector pin marks. Every one of the tow took mounts and lifting points had one. There were four fender supports that had two each. Guess today I'll be sanding them down.
