French Ford Model T Ambulance

Post by Justin Wooding »

Hi chaps,

So, since i came back to the fold a few weeks ago, i went and cleaned up the workbench and found some tools and a simple kit kit to work with.

I decided to run with the ICM Ford Model T Ambulance. Was the simplest kit i could find on my shelf :)

Not much in the box at all ;) Parts look reasonably nice and any mold seams are very faint so they should be an easy task to clean.

But uh oh, the are a bunch load of ejector pin marks. The worst of these are in the interior of the ambulance compartment. If you wanted to close up as much as possible you could get away with not filling the ejector pin marks. But the interior will be the star of the build and very visible, so looks like i'm filling pin marks. Filling the holes with Tamiya surface primer should sort it

The motor is a tiny little affair. Parts fit is very good. One could add extra detail here, but i am keeping the hood down and building straight from the box.

I decided to give the wooden floor of the ambulance compartment some wood grain, just for the fun of it. Probably doesn't need it, but i did it anyway. As the plastic is very soft i just used a brass wire brush and dragged it up and down the floor boards. Did this as an experiment with the brass wire brush really and it looks pretty good i think.

I've got more done, just haven't taken photos yet. Thanks for looking. All comments welcome :)

Good to see you are back gluing plastic Woody. :D

Why not move this over to the WWI group build? Looks like a pretty straight forward kit, you should have it done by 11 Nov.

Oh, very nice one there Woody!

I'd really say (well really I just concur with everyone else) - move it over to the Great War build!. ;)
 for the pin marks but the wood grain looks really good! :D

Best regards
