Re: Char St Chamond early production
I finally got around to fitting the top and bottom parts together, which thankfully was fairly easy. Only a few minor bits and pieces left to add before I can start painting.

I don't think the old forum software supports video files, so I'll just link to this totally not childish demonstration of the workable tracks that come with this kit.
Add "vroom vroom" sounds if you have to

Fantastic Philipp! Who would have thought the tracks would have been that strong as well.

Re: Char St Chamond early production
The tracks are definitely the best feature of this kit. Cleanup and assembly of a whole run took me less than 30 minutes.
The instructions say 36 links per side but 35 fits perfectly well. Just in case anyone else is now tempted
And with both tracks on we're now done here:
Lastly, the most important feature:
Yep. All of them had that 10 pound lump of brass to remind everyone who built this tracked travesty
I bought a nice big jar of Tamiya Light Grey for the basecoat, hopefully I can start painting tomorrow.

Thanks everyone
Vallejo putty has proven indispensable for closing the gaps between the armour plates, but overall it went together nicely. Compared to older kits Hobby Boss have improved their quality.
I still have the late model, might do that one too sooner or later

Nice and quick build Phillip. However I fear you glued the Saint-Chamond star upside down.
Enjoy the camo!

Oops
Thanks for pointing that out. I hope I can get it off again without ruining it.
