Can't think of a catchy title yet but will change the title when inspiration strikes!

Have had Tamiya's 166 Schwimmwagen in the stash for a while and have purchased the matching "recon" figure set from Tamiya. The heads are OK but have decided to have a go with Hornet aftermarket heads. AK Interactive will supply acrylic resin water and effects to put the vehicle in its element.

Similar to Raoul I found the build easy, the fit perfect and the detail good. After about 2hrs of steady cutting, sanding and gluing I have this;

I should be able to shoot primer later tonight and then put on the first top coat tomorrow. Still looking for a suitable base to contain the "water". :D

Managed to prime last night and paint a three tone camo scheme today. Did the camo free hand so it's a bit heavy, my excuse is the schemes were applied in the field at a unit level so some artistic license is allowed. Once dry I gave it a coat of Future. Will post some pics tomorrow once decals are on and my camera has recharged! :D

All painted over the weekend, just got some details (tarp etc) to pick out. Quick coat of gloss clear and decals went on flawlessly. Hopefully get a satin coat on next, pick put some details and start on the figures!

That was quick!

Where do you blokes get the time?! I am lucky to score half a dozen hours a week, and not all in one hit :P
