Late to the show, again!
Its been a tough 3 months for the hobby, and my eyes still seem to be allergic to my optivisor, so figure painting is still on the back burner.
Been pottering with the Bronco kit, which has the Pz II D up to primer, and the bridge under construction.
I bought this one quite some time ago, just as well the GB came up!
the bits
a PMMS review of the II D
Pz II D
There doesn't seem to be a finished blog on the interweb, not a good omen, though the kit has been a dream to build so far.
Step by step as per instructions
jumped to tracks next as I will build as a single piece with the all the wheels fixed.
I was very pleased with how the Flammpanzer tracks worked.
Only 4 attachment points per track and 91 each side!
Back on "track" with the instructions
primer
The bridge is now under construction.
I don't have power to the AB station in the garage, at present, so I have a cunning plan
A can of Tamiya German Grey, and several hours of studying Michael Rinaldi You Tube videos.
I am back at work next week after 9 weeks off, so a staged return over the next 4 weeks.
I am feeling ready to go back, as I have been under Anna's feet for too long.
New medication and 8 weeks off analgesics, have improved the migraines, but not the magnifying vision just yet!
Hopefully at least 1 GB might have a chance of completion by the deadline?
Do we have the GB logo's yet?
More soon?
Regards
Steve H

Ohhhhh! Very nice, I have the regular Bronco IID almost finished lying around here in it's box ever since the move in...err..2014?
But it's a great with and and nice engineering on the kit - looking forward to the bridge - last time I tried a bridge layer it was Trumpeter's IV the bridge of which had really no point explanation on how and where which cable was supposed to be fixed and I got annoyed to the point of stopping the build - also there is really not a lot of research available on the IV bridge layer anyway .
Oh and by the way: am I the only one that really gets a Panzer III vibe from the architecture and layout of the IID?
'Suppose the IID bridge is less complex or has better research photos or both?
And best of luck dealing with the whole "getting back to work" issue!
Best regards

I was about to say "nice start Steve", but then I saw you're almost done
Good to see you back in business
Have you considered one of those desk lamps with a big magnifying glass? Haven't used one of these, so I don't know if they are very practical. For me the lack of proper depth perception with only a single lens has always been an issue.
No GB logo yet, I wanted to get the forum transition done over this four day long weekend we have in Germany right now. I'll make an official announcement once there is any concrete news.

Nice work Steve, the suspension looked complex from the pics you put up
Nothing wrong with using a Tamiya rattle can, not as controlled as an AB but when I've used them in the past the coverage is usually nice and fine with no loss of surface detail.

Thanks chaps
Absolutely Raoul, this shot looks so Pz III doesn't it
The Trumpeter Pz IV bridger has very mixed reviews
I have one in my Pz IV stash, to try one day too
I was a little shocked too Philipp
Adam, the Christie suspension is really easy to deal with as a single piece
Rattle can next, then oil paint rendering
Its finished the build phase, I am surprised too

new wood wash
sepia wash on the wood and some colour on the tracks
another wood wash and some 822 on the tracks
After re reading Woody's box painting SBS, dry brushing next, and some graphite on the tracks
