You've certainly set the bar high for any future railway project on this site

Thanks Jan. I'm glad you like it. Still a way to go yet before paint. ;)

Thanks Shawn. I have my fingers crossed that it will be visible when I'm finished

Thanks Philipp. The details seem to be getting a life of their own. Every time I look at my references I see a detail and think sure, I can add that. It's good fun though when it's all said and done. :)

Hi Vincent,

Blimey mate, you are going above and beyond with this one. Fantastic stuff! :ugeek:

It's no wonder all the hobby shops in Melbourne are out of stock of white polystyrene plastic. It's all at your place

Thanks Woody. I didn't realise I'd bought all of it

I'm embarrassed to see it's been over 3 years since my last post on this build. I see that some of the pics are missing and I'm afraid I don't have them any more either. That computer gave up the ghost a while ago. :(
Oh well, in order to avoid setting any sort of record for unfinished blogs, I've dusted off the kit and pushed onward.
From what I recall, I got caught up chasing impossible details. The more I looked at reference pics, the more detail I wanted to add. It's a curse, what can I say. ;)
Surprisingly, when I picked up the kit this time, construction went quite smoothly. :)
I've done most of the cabin instrumentation. I'm not sure if this is "right" but it looks suitably busy to me.

Next up I finished off the engine area. The support and the compressed air tanks with assorted switches and handles were all scratch built. There are still several tubes and pipes to be added that run from the engine to the support area but I will have to wait until I'm done with everything else to avoid breaking them when I primer and paint.

I'm having fun with this now and even though it's nowhere near completion I feel like I've made some solid progress this time.

Cheers,
Vincent

Good to see you back on this build Vincent. The engine and all the other details look simply amazing :D

No worries about records, I alone probably have more unfinished business buried in this forum than all of you combined :?

The photos were regrettably corrupted by a server failure back in the days of Plastic Armour. I'm afraid I can't do much to fix that...

Thanks Philipp. :)

I lost a lot of my old pics when my last computer failed unfortunately. I had intentions of uploading replacements for the corrupted ones on the site but alas I don't have them. I keep pics on a separate device now. Lesson learnt. ;)

I spent today making front and rear lights including the bulbs. The kit ones were rather bland. :)
