WR 360 Locomotive

I like trains ...there, I've said it but before I am cast off the site and ridiculed let me clarify what I mean. I like trains that have a military aspect to them. I like trains that haul armour, troop trains, goods wagons and railcars that carry quirky things like aircraft and pieces of tanks. In particular the Trumpeter offerings in 1/35 scale are very appealing. They are big, detailed and lend themselves well to detailing , painting and especially weathering. Some of you may remember the railway Gondola I built for my Opel Blitz. That was great fun.
Which brings me to this build. I was fully involved in the Panzer 1 for the light Tank GB until the multi colour camouflage brought me undone. Given the growing number of incomplete builds I have, such as the Kursk Panther, the village Panther, the Stug and now the Panzer 1, I decided to do the only sensible thing possible. I started this kit. It's nicely detailed and quite big, though small in compartison to the BR52 Locomotive and yes, I do have one of those in the stash.
I've started the chassis and apart from some mould lines the fit is good. I'm using the excellent WWP book of the larger C14 model version but they are similar so it should help with some of the details. I'm also referencing some online builds as well. I have some grand plans for this build that I shall share with you all as I progress. I could tell you now but if I crash and burn then the ignominy of failure will be somewhat lessened. Besides, I haven't actually got all the bits together yet.
Thanks for taking the time to look in on my first official train build. If I haven't scared you off I'll see you at the next update.
Cheers,
Vincent
