This maybe the only GB I finish this year!

The 502 tubes at a £1 each, a good investment Shawn ;)

I thought it was OTT, but it looks OK.
Done A la Adam Wilder, with pigments sand, plaster and static grass for a little added effect and colour, enough left over for a small base too

Next will be the main body to do OPA/SODA/render :?

I have done the turret, it doesn't look very good yet, I shall study my Tank Art books for guidance
Image

Doesn't look quite right yet, too patchy/grainy :? More brush work required?

Then tools, spare tracks the flame throwers and spilled oil, the MG, lights, visors and all the little details before I can add it as my 2nd finished GB.

I still have just over a month? don't I?

Then off to E-bay, as its an experiment for practice, not a keeper ;)

Then back to the grasshopper fire escape and building.

I have plenty of different things going at the same time, PE fenders for the grasshopper, and an interior to wash and chip for the first time, and even 2 figures, primed and scribbed but not painted, if the enthusiasm for one thing wanes I move onto something else, but figure painting still seems to be eluding me, I haven't done a decent head, since last year, when I did some for Raoul :(

more later this week, when the oil painting has improved!

Been rather too long!

This is now finished; before I keep fiddling and make it worse

The mud was fun, though I don't need to make so much next time

Pigments have been a real education and will be a regular part of future builds ;)

502 oils were a mixed result, I couldn't get it to work very well for grey shading, but for rust and dust it is OK

Dennis did a great job on his 38t.

Lessons learned, so time to photograph and finish.

As I'm not Mr regular in the Gallery, and having still got interweb issues, the final photos might be a while :?

Photobucket is being even more difficult than usual, and I have tried several other applications, all of which were even worse!

It could be my internet connection, as the whole area is being upgraded to fibre optic cabling, which has reduced the interweb to a dial up speed from 15 years ago

I well remember it, though it seems worse today, every app is just spinning, and I have had more than enough time to just make a cup of tea!

Feed the cats, make breakfast, read a few chapters and it is still spinning, so switch off and start again!

Are these photos going to be OK for the gallery?

An extension might be needed to get the photos sorted if these aren't the right size.

I used to have an app for resizing, but on my old laptop!

Tried some apps, which were just as uncooperative as the alternative photo sites too!

What is happening with the interweb, or is it just me?

Every app I have open is just spinning at the moment!

Selling the stash too, trying to focus on the varieties, I really do want to build, as I will not have the time to build everything I have!

All the kits which have been upgraded have gone, and the duplicates are on the way too.

Next is to decide if I really want to have

artillery?
A/T?
Beutepanzers?
horse drawn?
Panzer II?
buildings?

I haven't "released" any figures yet, but haven't paint any for nearly a year!

I shall definitely keep

Pz I's, III's, IV's and Stugs,

mobile AA and armoured cars, maybe?

soft skins, possibly?

I am struggling to find the motivation, what with all the other life and knackered back and knees issues at the moment.

Hopefully some calm and quality time soon.

Catch up this weekend Raoul

More soon, back to the Grasshopper

Regards

Steve H

Nice work Steve :)

As for the photos, maybe a little more light and a smooth background? Most craft shops sell large sheets of sturdy paper that is just about perfect for this purpose ;)

For resizing I recommend Irfanview, it's a lightweight image viewing and editing programme. The interface can be a little daunting at first glimpse but after a little trial and error it's very easy to use. It also does batch processing, wich can be rather useful if you have to do the same thing with a couple photos. Download here: http://www.irfanview.com/

As for your stash.....I guess it's up to you to decide, but if you're anything like me you will crave something different sooner than later

If you don't have a photo booth set up Steve, you could take the photos outside on an overcast day with a plain background as Phillip describes. Avoid direct sunlight as that creates harsh shadows. If camera settings allow, set to as wide an aperture as possible (to get a good deprth of field - ie all the model will be in focus) and a slow shutter speed using a tripod.

Thanks chaps, for the hints and tips,

First attempt to send photos to Gary

Hope it worked and they are the right size and "stuff"!

I really need to try Panzer grey again

With only several dozen early panzers, it might not be too long to wait

I have the Grasshopper to try and finish, and even the figure vignette planned out too.

Just need to get cracking!

A little taster of the Flamepanzer, once the photos have been confirmed as good enough, she is off to E-bay to raise a donation for PA.

Fingers crossed for both!
