Lucky for the Germans accuracy was poor, lucky for the Russians they had numbers and several 152s would engage the same target simultaneously!

Little bit of work done over the week. Replaced the kit grab handles with brass ones and began work with the Orange Hobby PE.

The Orange Hobby PE is nice to work with but the choices of what to replace are odd. The grills over the intakes are some of the best I have seen, but there are no replacements for tool clasps or fuels cell straps. They have chosen instead to make 8 part internal mechanisms for the pistol ports, none of which will be seen. The horn is nice, as is the turned brass cleaning rods.

Few more pieces to attach, hatches etc, and then should be able to shoot primer.

Love the work! I really enjoyed building mine. I made the track too loose but still loved it.

Very Tamiya, just falls together!

Just noticed that the straps that hold the external fuel cells to their brackets do not line up. The box art and instructions show this misalignment, but reference pics beg to differ. I've sanded them off the two tanks I plan to install and replaced with .010" plastic card. The buckles on the real thing are hidden on the JSU so this should suffice.

The other issue is the commander figure, he won't fit through the hatch once assembled so have had to glue his "body" inside and will reunite him with his head once the tank is painted. This is going to complicate painting him, but I reason that the hatch is so tight you won't notice ;)

Small amount of progress yesterday, cleaning rods on and commanders MG finished. Should still be on target to shoot primer this week. :D

Said it before and I'll say it again, Tamiya, not the most detailed of kit makers but their kits just build themselves :D
