Thank guys,

Its been awhile, I seem to saying that a lot these days!

Back to the Grasshopper, I have just over a month, so here we are, will I actually finish a full GB?
Image
bits to still finish
Image

Some soldering too, not done that for over a year, and 2 figures, possibly, hopefully!

Been a year since I did a figure and head too!

Time to catch with you too Raoul, next 24 hours ;)

Back soon with some more

Who else is having a Bank holiday off on Monday?

Not me

Have a good weekend

You have alot of work ahead of you to have this finished in a month. Take your time, enjoy what you re doing, and don't fell pressure about the time frame. Having a certain amount of time to complete build is definitely one thing I don't like about the group builds. I don't like feeling the rush to get things done. Takes the fun out of it for me.

What you have done up to the point is first class. Keep it coming.

I totally agree Shawn, a lot to do, and don't want to loose the fun of building!

so It might, or might not be finished, would love to, but we will see!

I have tried to use super glue, but the fenders are not responding, so out with the soldering kit, again, after a year in the attic!

And where we are at the moment

Used nearly all the PE, still a little more to squeeze on!

This is the really important bit that Dragon missed out, I have counted the parts, all PE and copper wire, brass rod and tubes, total count is?? have a guess??

Image

Just counted them up, 64 in total!

I shall be priming this week, then onto colour?

I am thinking grey for the undercarriage, and dungelgelb with some panels in primer for the top half, we shall see.

I have all the spare parts from the Pz IV A build in a box, to have as bits and pieces scattered around the scenario too.

More soon?

That is some impressive PE work you have done there Steve. It really looks great and certainly adds some nice detail. Keep it coming my friend.

Nice work on the PE Steve. I have looked at the Voyager set for this kit on several occasions but the volume of soldering put me off. I might have to rethink..... :D

Sorry for my lack of notice the recent devolpments... especially given the utter awsomeness of both how it's developing as well as the utmost glory of the lifting gear!
Without paint it looks incredibly dieselpunk....which is kind of the point of an art style inspired by the aesthetics of 1940s tech  .
This GB has generated some awesome projects this time   !

Thanks Chaps, much appreciated

"steam punk" Raoul :?

Ahh, Now I can see it 8-)

Adam, I super glued everything :o

Wish I hadn't!

I have my eye on the Trumpeter kit as it does have most of the lifting gear, though I might even get all the PE again

And solder it, even the cogs with 3 layers can be soldered, but you would need to polish up on your tinning techniques :?

I did manage to tin most of the Thoma fittings on the T34 85, after lots of practice ;)

Getting all the soldering kit out has wetted my appetite to do more, though the next GB, is figures so I might have to do something off piste so to speak ;)

Back to the Grasshopper, some little progress, first fix carpentry for the building,

Image
and some primer
Image
It really is a mess, and it is too hot even now to AB, so tins of spray car primer

And some primer on the brass

I dropped the brass lifting block 3 times and have had to re glue it!!

Solder next time

The state of my garage/Air Brush workshop
Image

It is going to a squeeze to get under the wire for the end of June

I know what you mean Shawn, it can be annoying and frustrating, but we will have a go!

I am on 10-6 next week, so I'll get up early and work whilst its cooler before off to work, and maybe even get some AB work done in the evening, as it is lighter later!

Best intentions

I am really looking forward to the Figure GB, it will force the painting figures issue for me!

I haven't lifted a brush in anger on a figure or head for a year, time to get back on the horse, come what may!

Thanks for popping by

Regard
