I think it's an usual tendency of our hobby to see what we perceive as failures and mistakes while not realizing that it's actually really good!
Just have a look at a "regular" site where people post their work, like modellversium or such places... it's 90% way below the level here ;) .

The brick wall and the fire escape look great, but this has already been mentioned - the interior is also magnificently chipped, again, I'm repeating things here, but one thing not mentioned is how great, and this is small details, the handrail of the fire escape! It really turned out looking like aged wood! :D
