"Could have been" IDF JagdHetzer

Post by Mark Aldrich »

As always, coming to the game late. The Israelis were offered 16 or so JagdHetzers or ST-1s in 1948-49 but realized they could get 20 scrap Shermans for the price of two ST-1s. The purchase was scrapped and they spent their money on more weapons and such. This is the excellent Academy Kit and the also excellent SKP conversion parts. The build will represent a vehicle circa 1960 after they started painting their vehicles in the Sand Grey.

The ModelKasten track was a complete pain. The only good part was that they fit onto the Academy kit nicely. Paint and decals added. Just need a Commander figure and some accessories.

The Commander is from SabingaMartin and got the .50 Mounted. Decided to leave it as a training vehicle with almost no stowage.

Very nice and original subject Mark!
Where did you get the M2 with the open "breech cover"?

Oliver,
The M2 is from Dragon's M4 75mm ETO if I remember correctly. Better built than Tasca's as it comes with the dovetail trigger that Tasca does not include. Instruction link (I hope)

Philipp,
I was actually thinking of doing one with the Diesel engine, 60mm IMI Hypervelocity gun, smoke launchers, and FN MAG Swing arms.
