Tamiya 1/48 Panzer 38(t)
Here is my project for this GB. It's small and Tamiya, so, maybe I'll actually finish in the time allowed? Stranger things have happened.
Box art:
Hull:
Drive and idler:
Not too much to show so far, but, it is a pretty simple kit and it is Tamiya, so, I hope things will progress quickly.
I plan to finish it in panzer grey and hope to have some fun with the weathering.

It all ready Panzer grey, so you won't even have to paint it.
Glad to see you Matt. I'm sure you have a little scene planned for it to.

Re: Tamiya 1/48 Panzer 38(t)
Weirdly, for me, I don't. I'll probably put it on a simple base, but I don't plan to have any figures or anything else around.Shawn Ramsey wrote: I'm sure you have a little scene planned for it to.
Made some progress. I got the tracks together and then moved on to the upper hull and connecting the upper and lower.
The tracks ready for paint:
The hull together with some of the details added. I'll be on to the turret shortly.
(MG not glued in that position, just trying to keep from breaking it.)
Finally, and unrelated to this project I finished this build yesterday:
This is for another project that I will make a separate thread for before too long, but, I am pretty happy with the fact I got this thing together so I couldn't wait to share. Fortunately the kit I had comes with two motorcycles, so, by robbing PE pieces from the second one, I was able to get this one together. The pieces I robbed were all for the front wheel and the framing around it, so, if I ever build the other one, it will be a stripped down version.

PS. The 35th scale Harley is almost as big as the 48th scale Panzer!

Steve, I would not classify the bike as an easy build. All of the plastic goes together fine without issues, but, the PE pieces, that are integral, structural pieces are (at least for me) a... "challenge".

Bike looks awesome Might be interesting when it comes to painting it though
Does the 38(t) come with a metal hull like the other Tamiya 1/48 kits? I never understood the logic behind those, it just seemed to push the price up.

Re: Tamiya 1/48 Panzer 38(t)
Chris, no it comes with a plastic lower hull. They did include some metal weights so the model will have "a more realistic weight". I left them out. I guess I'll have to be careful in case I sneeze or something and the model goes flying away from my bench.
