Re: Tamiya Marder III
That's why I like KV tanks, everything is hidden in stowage boxes
I'm doing the shells right now, more progress later...

Re: Tamiya Marder III
I figured it might be time to finally add some tracks to this thing, so that's done now. As mentioned earlier they were plundered from an Hobby Boss (ex-Tristar) Panzer 38(t) kit. The Tristar tracks are somewhat of a tight fit around the spocket and idler but they nonetheless went into position with a little force.
Piled on top the previously mentioned shells, some of them scavenged from the mediocre ICM Pak 36(r), which will mostly end up atop of the ammo racks and therefore out of direct sight. I sprayed them with Tamiya Gold Leaf (X-12), which worked quite nice after thinning it (and shaking and stirring it until my arm fell of).
Random gun facts: The German-produced 76.2mm shells for the rebuilt Pak 36(r) all had a white tip to distinguish them from the very similar 75mm Pak 40 shells. AP shells are black, HE green.

Re: Tamiya Marder III
It's really moving forwards now - Detail painting is complete, also some chipping, a little heavier this time. It's ready for oils and pigments
Nailed boots on painted metal, you can imagine how well that goes...
The tracks are done too:

The wear on the deck looks nice Philipp.
I would assume nailed boots on metal would be pretty noisy too

Re: Tamiya Marder III
Thanks everyone
I'm not yet 100% happy with the chipping on the floor. I probably need to add a few fresh scratches with bare metal, but I don't want to overdo it either.

Re: Tamiya Marder III
I would think as those areas are constantly being worn it would be more like polished metal than rusty, maybe a little at the edges.
Nice job so far.
