Thanks everyone As I said I can't prime it until it gets slightly warmer...
But yeah, too much time right now. Efforts to change that have been mostly fruitless so far.

Do it, it's fun! Replacement tracks would be of advantage though. Not just the general problems with vinyl, they also have solid guide teeth, not hollowed out as on the real thing.
