Have you tried the rattle can in hot water trick to combat that Phil? Supposedly if you shake it up then stand it in a pot of warm water it heats the propellant up and allows it to flow better. Not sure if that helps, cold in NZ is 4 or 5 degrees in Winter in the Nth Island. Dealing with 26 plus at present but high humidity which means everything is slow to dryPhilipp Gross wrote:Sorry lads, I'll try to slow down a little
It's quite cold right now so using the primer rattlecan is a little difficult at the moment anyway.

Re: Tamiya Marder III
I might try that....as soon as the cold is the only problem I have
It might be gone by tomorrow or stay for two weeks. Both is possible around here, though the former is much more likely. Not that I'm complaining, snow is infinitely better than our usual muddy green and grey winters

Re: Tamiya Marder III
Turns out it wasn't so cold after all. Pre-heating the spraycan on a radiator might have helped too.
Of course I missed a few spots but the most important thing is to get all the metal parts primed. I also just ordered a Panzer 38(t) kit which will probably swap tracks with this one.

I'd almost swap you the snow for our humidity at present. It's too hot to sleep!
Yet again the Citadel primer goes on sooooo fine!

Re: Tamiya Marder III
Thanks again one and all
Of course the snow is gone now, at least we have a very refreshing influx of cold arctic air from the northeast, with lots of sun every day I'll think fondly of it once the usual tropical summer returns
Concerning the Marder, since I'm swapping the kit tracks with the better detailed Tristar tracks I did the same with the mounted spares:
I'm about to start painting, but this time I actually remembered that I have roll of masking film and a compass cutter:
Thankfully 38t wheels have that nice edge between tyre and rim that greatly helps with positioning the masks.

Good to see more progress Philipp. I must get one of those compass cutters. They must come in very handy.

I have one just like it, but I have only tried using it on plaster which did not work real well.
The Marder looks great Philipp.

Thanks Shawn
I've put on some grey last night, I'll post an update later today when I've added some shading.
