Tamiya British SAS Jeep

Since all the cool boys are joining this group build, I really have to choise although I neither have the time nor the confidence to finish this.

The SAS jeep is probably one of the most known Tamyia kits from the 70's and build in numerous very, very good versions. Desert vehicles and sceneries are my all time favorites, so I am really looking forward to trying my limited skills on this little pearl.

I will be using most of the techniques from this book I had since the mid 80's - lots of dry brushing :D

I found the kit on ebay for a very cheap price - so while waiting for it to arrive, I started the base. It will be a small vignette, just made from plaster, a paint, wash and dry brush. Still a some work to do, but you get the idea.

As usual, construction begins with the chassis. Only a few parts to fit.

OMG, "The Modelmakers Handbook"! My folks bought me that for my 16th birthday, wish I had hung onto it now, brings back memories of trying to make water out of two part epoxy :D

I missed him, but then again, he does blend well.

The base looks great Jan, and I am looking forward to seeing the rest of this come together.
