It's one of those rather simple (even though probably a complex task... ) things that vastly improves these old kits!
The more current approach would probably have been to go ahead and buy a etched Am set of sorts .

Thanks for the comments. It's looking good and ready for paint. But unfortunately, cold and damp has not let that happen. So i guess i am out of time and another failure I don't think i will commit to any more group builds, i can't even get a basic Tamiya kit done
God i hate winter in this state.....and summer sux too! Mavis and i have already said, two more years and we are out of here. It means another move, and giving up a cool job, but seriously, i hate this place
Still going to work at this project though, i am enjoying it and it was a well received at our club meet on the weekend with the extra improvements i have made. But one of the other guys brought along a Dragon 25pdr. It was great to compare the two kits that a re 30 years or so apart. What a difference!!!
I shall be the first to admit defeat for this group build
