Just to echo everyone else, this is a revelation to me. I really may have to get one of these, not for this group build, just because it's such a great looking kit.

The tarp is finished a la Andy Moore..

And thence to Primer

With the tarp starting with a Hemp/IDF mix

And then I tried some DOA paint I took delivery of. The good news is that it sprays beautifully - I mean really well - straight from the (glass) bottle. I got carried away and put several coats on and then stopped and reflected. I was aiming for Khaki Green G3 but the outcome is an olive drabbish colour almost SCC2

Image

I checked G3 on the web and given the huge hoo-ha that is Brit colours even allowing for the normal fading etc etc The DOA comes nowhere close which is a shame. The Hataka on the other hand I think is closer to wartime G3 but as I've reported back previously is REALLy difficult t spray. It's also a little TOO green so I mixed it with SCC2 - 9 : 2 and cut it with 4 drops pof Vallejo airbrus cleaner so that it will at least spray (though still clogs frequently).

Here's that contrast.....

And so we get tot he G3 covered finish.

I'm now going to seal with non acrylic Model Master Flat and use the hairspray technique with Light Stone 61 going over the top.

Rob

(Philipp - it wont be towing anything but since it's an Australian truck there'll be single figure with an appropriate hat ;) )

I normally would never have considered this kit for my collection.

.....but....I see those metal cargo hooks along the sides......The wire WAS included in the box, right? Those were taken from the staples which held the box together, right? ;)

Cracking work so far rob,

Still shocked at the quality of this 70's gem

The paintwork is really cooking Rob :D

Now comes the $64,000 question :?

Where did you get DOA paints from?

I have been hunting the interwar 3 colour German camo paint set from DOA, via TrackPad, who no longer exist?

Looking forward to the canopy developing :D

As a "hat person" I'm instantly happy by the inclusion of a properly equiped figure, especially with such a significant hat! 8-)

Best regards

Steve - the range has diminished but from here

Except that they don't seem to have any German sets left
