Aaaaand done!

I made some minor (as far as it was possible...) corrections on the spare tracks. That's why I inquired about the usability of plastic sheet ;) . =>

And here's the IV D, Anno Domini 1977 in 2016=>

Now.. this was good, clean, simple fun :D .

Especially enlightening was just how much is possible to conceal and/or correct with minor scratch built element and painting skills I acquired from Modelarmour (that is essentially from you guys and others who have yet to find their way to us ;) ). Compare and contrast with my pre-MA rendition of the self same model at the start of this blog ;) . =>

The difference between those two images is essentially based on being part of a community like this very one here! :D

Hi Rauol,

Nice improvement with those guide horns of the spare track 8-)

Is this the first 70's group build finish?

Done in 5 days, including a base and figure. I still would not have a single figure done in 5 days.

Well done Raoul. It really turned out great.

Congrats Raoul, shows there still a lot that can be achieved with a 40yr old kit :)

Thanks Justin, Philipp, Shawn, Steve and Adam! :D

As I said, and as the picture shows, there is a lot that can be compensated with a halfway decent paint job but If I'd really tried to get this kit up to speed I'd need a new copula, new lifting hooks, a complete new suspension and road wheels, sprocket and return rollers, a whole new track.... it's better used as a gateway drug or for historicist exercises like this one  .

Done in 5 days, including a base and figure. I still would not have a single figure done in 5 days.
Please remember that a) it's a simple kit with a simple figure on a minimalist base and zero AM and b) sleep is overrated  ...

Looks good to me Raoul. I like the finish a lot. The overall finish is nicely done and the weathering is just right, a realistic amount without going overboard.

I hope my 250 comes out as nice.

Matt
