Raoul
Ever thought of one of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Girls-Und-Pan ... 6016.l4276
Might be a pleasant change of pace

Very expensive too

Re: Tamiya Panzer IV Ausf. D 1977
Steve,
Of course I know of these... however I saw one episode as a fansub and decided that it's a) a school environment anime b) a sports type anime c) a fanboy anime and d) it has overtones of the "harem" genre... all of which I really don't like, I'm a "seinen" (for age 30-dementia) anime fan and prefer a vastly different art style .
The IVD however is, as far as I know, a licensed Dragon kit and we would essentially pay to have a couple of different decals.
If it where a tad bit cheaper... as in .. oh I don't know... in the 35-40 bucks (the relevant currencies have been roughly on the same level anyway for the past 5 years) it might be a nice change of pace - a realistic model painted with silly markings... but if I where ready to invest this amount into this exercise I'd go straight to GW WH40K kits in order to be able to ignore anything even remotely realistic .
I suppose on the end it's the price and the character design that kill it for me - I'm certainly a watcher of anime but some art-styles just rub me the wrong way... either because of utterly plain look, the occasional latent paedophile tendency or completely screwed up proportions .
Looking over my arguments I realize that I should be able to detach the series narrative characteristics from the kits that come with it.... but I'm too romantic (as in: overly concerned with emotional impact ) to actually be to rational...
Best regards

Raoul, that is quite the answer. I'd have just said "Nah-I don't like the show and the kit is too expensive anyway. Of course, I'm a bit simple minded when it comes to these sorts of things, so that should come as no surprise.

I would have expected nothing less in a reply
You are our abstract philosopher of the plastic arts and as such will always have a place by the warm hearth in our hearts at PA
Just keep being you

I would be more than willing to contribute to a fund to get some business cards printed up for Raoul that have the above title on them.Steve Hutchinson wrote:abstract philosopher of the plastic arts

PS. I do hope that earlier post came off in the spirit of fun in which it was intended.

Don't worry, it was perfectly understandable even in my way-too-long-awake state of mind .PS. I do hope that earlier post came off in the spirit of fun in which it was intended.
