Bronco Loyd Carrier Mk II and Riich QF 6 Pdr Mk IV

Post by Rob Matthews »

I know, I know........

I had planned to start the Nebelwerfer and the Sd.kfz 11 but I got in a cold sweat when I looked at the Nebelwerfer. I need a straight time-stretch to tackle that which I don't currently have.

And you Guys were having so much fun so I've opted for an easier build to get me in the ring ;)

AND, I've wanted to build the Loyd carrier since it was released.

And so it's an off with the gun first...

The 6Pr was a 57mm weapon that replaced the 2 Pdr both as an artillery and anti-tank weapon. Small and relatively light it was capable of piercing the Tiger's armour. It served with US forces identical apart from Wheels. In British use these guns were most often towed by Loyd carriers.

The instructions are nearly identical to Broncos. Presumably they are a side company?

There's a nice metal barrell :)

Ohh! I've been thinking seriously about the carrier for a long time. I know you did the U.C. from Riich a while back. I'll look forward to read about your feelings on this one.

That looks better than Broncos 6 pounder to be honest, the metal barrel is a nice touch too. This should be a cracker.
