Re: Dragon Kettenkrad
Hi Shawn - the Kettenkrad looks Ace! That's the only way to do the bread bags, with the advantage that you can stick the Gas mask into the putty etc for an effective "sit".
Lovely work as usual

The Kettenkrad is wonderful Shawn, can't wait to see some paint on it. Great work on the figures too.

Re: Dragon Kettenkrad
Thanks chaps, always glad to have you following.
Well I have done it again. More damn figures.
The first bread bags I sculpted I used Greenstuff. It great to work with but one thing I have found is even once it dries and still remains a little soft, so you can not sand it if the need arises.
Now I tried Aves Apoxie Sculpt with a little greenstuff added. This worked fine and you can sand it.

Nicely done Shawn - I think that's it's the only way to do Bread bags. The figures look just great.
So that will be Fallschirmjaeger Camo next then ( )

That's the plan on at least two of the figures. Time will tell.Rob Matthews wrote:So that will be Fallschirmjaeger Camo next then ( )

Vlad- Take a look at my comment above the pics.
I have not made any more progress. I have really be struggling on how to display all of this. Then I started thinking about going back to the PAK 35/36 but I think I am going to stick with the Puppchen, I just don't know.

It may just be one figure with the Camo.Shawn Ramsey wrote:That's the plan on at least two of the figures. Time will tell.Rob Matthews wrote:So that will be Fallschirmjaeger Camo next then ( )

I made the Gas mask straps out of tape. Seemed to work well.
Two days worth of work here and I only have the base colors done. Still need to do the highlighting and shading.
This time around I left the arms off while I painted. Jury is out right now on which I prefer. I still need to touch up some areas since the arms were attached.
Still a long, long way to go and this is only the first figure.
Thanks for looking

I need to make some straps for two helmets. Anyone have any ideas on what I can use for the buckles on the straps. Or a way to make them?

Whoops, sorry, missed this one. Excellent camo painting!
As for the straps, I think I once saw some made from photoetch...or mayme these were complete straps... Maybe our etch grand master knows more?

Re: Dragon Kettenkrad
Hi Shawn
I used thin copper wire around something small and square the same size as the buckle
the end of a square file?
Cut if off and thread a piece of thin lead foil, from a wine bottle or inner seal from a coffee jar?
Anything more detailed will be an etch set but they are hard to find and usually very expensive for the 2 or 3 buckles they have
I tried it and after 2 or 3 attempts it looked decent enough, cutting the foil was harder than the buckle
Getting it thin enough and stopping it from curling up
