Greg Beckman wrote:A little late to the game here. Couple things to note, you can get a turned barrel as a replacement, which helps.. Those spoked wheels where undersized on mine and the gun was resting on the undercarriage, so I had to go with the alternate wheels that was provided in the kit. But looks like you were able to overcome that issue. And you have made those radials look much better, everything is looking great so far.

How about a Gaz67b or BA-64 pulling it.
Thanks Greg. :) I agree, the wire wheels are unfortunately undersize. It's a shame really because the other shortfalls in the kit could be forgiven if the stance was correct out of the box.

Thanks Philipp and Greg. :) Definately options for the future. I've also seen pics of the gun with the Gaz type wheels. Personally I much prefer the wire wheel version. :D

I've been wondering for a while what vehicle to have towing this AT Gun so the other day I went for a visit to the LHS with my brother. :)
While I was browsing, I was handed this...

I haven't seen this kit before. I knew about the Miniart version but this was a very pleasant surprise. Naturally, I snapped it up.
When I got home I couldn't wait to start it. :D
There are two full sprues of parts with options for a horse-drawn version or one for a vehicle. The detail is quite nice and parts fit together well. Only a small amount of trimming and sanding is needed for a snug fit. Curiously, the kit includes a PE fret to allow you to build 6 trays that slide into the body of the limber. Unfortunately, there is no explanation on how to have the door open so you can view them. The PE also includes some delicate pieces but no soldering is required for any of it.
This is what it looks like so far.

I still have to add the tools which explains the big holes in the body. It's been fun so far and I'm looking forward to painting it.

Cheers,
Vincent

Oh, in case you are wondering, I chose this as the towing vehicle. I'm thinking Lend Lease. :D

I've never done a Jeep before so this should be fun. :)

I like the limber, the Miniart one does not have the ammo trays, which I think is a nice addition. But, but, but a Jeep. Comrade.......

I hope so Philipp. ;) I was looking for an unusual combination and I think the Jeep will fit the bill nicely :)

The Limber is quite good Greg and its also a reasonable price too. :) Sorry to disappoint you with the Jeep Tovarisch. ;)
