Had to get my post off the bottom! In between bouts of Fallout4, I have actually done some building. The next step scares me. The lower hull sides are not what I would call a PERFECT fit and am nervous of lots of filling.

As a wise man once said: "Don't be afraid of the model, you're the one holding the knife"

Great work so far, I find it hard to believe the rest could be any worse ;)

Mark,

Good work so far. You're correct. the hull sides are not the best fit. SOme of those alignment pins will need to be removed, but the hull sides will fit together and there will be no need for filling. You might have to clamp the parts together and leave sit for a day.

Looking forward to the next update.

Mark - I am now the proud owner of one of these - It's on the build list after the Carrier.

Keep those hints and tips coming - It's good to have you point out ;)

I’m back! Yeah I know it has been awhile and I apologize. I sometimes get into a lethargic slump and have no desire to do anything. Part of this latest was a terrible cold that I could just not kick. Then I just did not feel like picking anything up to do any kind of work on it. I kick started myself into it on Friday. I purchased the New Dragon M48A1, Trumpeter MTLB and Valkyrie’s IDF Yom Kippur figure set from Sprue Brother’s. Saturday, Mrs. TreadHead and I tripped up to Seattle and I purchased $100 worth of Acrylic paints (Migs Yom Kippur Set and Life Colors IDF set along with thinners and cleaners). I also Ebayed the Trumpeter 2S1 and JS-3M and some Archer resin foundry markings. I finally got the IDF M1 Sherman finished and pulled out the Revell M48A2 to the bench. The M48A2 needs a little more work (foundry markings and serials, antennas, turret water can holders) to be ready for paint. The Humber is nearing bench status as it is almost as assembled as I dare to keep transporting it from home to work. There are some PE that I am not keen on placing but need to as they were used on the version I am attempting to replicate. I had a terrible setback yesterday. I was getting ready to pour some resin for a friend and when I picked up the Alumilite B bottle the damn thing shattered in my hands and B resin poured over the whole work bench. After getting it all cleaned up, I am now no longer going to be in the resin casting end of this hobby. This is the second time this has happened. The resin was only 4 months old and should not have made the carrier plastic that brittle in that short of time. Partially my fault as I should have left it in the can I stored it in after having this happen once before. Anyways, I will add a couple shots to this post when I get home this evening (along with the finished M1). Not much different from the last shots but it is progressing.
