What gloss paint did you use? It's gone down very smooth! Looks more of a semi-gloss?

Field applied mud camo sounds interesting. Will be watching

The paint is just flat Tamiya German Grey with a good portion of clear gloss on top to prevent decal silvering. I have to add a flat coat on top before I smear on the mud camo.

By the way, it seems like they improved the decals somewhat. They reacted much better to setting solution than I expected.

With the decals sealed in, let's drown it all in a flood of light ochre pigment mud....good thing it rubs off again



It's like working with chipping fluid, except you don't need any...less chances for problems

A few more hours work armed with a moist Q-tip and this should hopefully look slightly realistic.

I'm just as surprised this worked as you probably are

Once I'm happy with it I'll seal it in place, then there's detail painting and even more dust, but of the lighter variety as used on the Dingo.

I always try to use methods that are as close to the original as possible, so it only seems logical to use "real" mud for mud camo. I also did whitewashes this way before.
