Stayed here for a week after the conference;
So little chance for modelling!
Been a rude shock to be back in NZ, but all caught up on work and jet lag so got out the 222 and laid down a bit of field grey. Have usually chipped using brush and sponge but thought I'd give the hair spray technique a go. Local hairdresser has mini travel cans of Tresemme so no major out lay if it goes to pot!
Used some XF60 Desert Yellow over the top, little bit of modulation and then into the chipping.
Bit heavy in areas but a lot of this will be covered by stowage. Most pics I have of German vehicles in the desert show heavy wear, I suppose in part due to the environment and in part due to the often field applied colour schemes.
Went to the local Militaria Show today. A guy had a collection of German, US and British Jerry Cans. All in original paint. I was surprised at the colour variation (would have taken a pic but no photos allowed) from Grey through yellow/tan to a pinkish brown. Grey or Red brown primer on all. Tried to replicate that this afternoon on the front stowage.
WIP, but coming along better than I thought
