BA20 in Chinese service

Post by Shaun Symonds »

Hi
decided to join in with this GB. I'm going to build the old Dragon BA20 reboxing of the even older Alan kit.
simple kit :) not many parts :) so I should finish this quicker than as lot of my builds lately.

For those inclined to build one too, Hobby Boss has announced a newly tooled kit of this weird little vehicle. Let's hope it's better designed than their BA-10

Hi
Finally started this build. And Yes it's an Ancient kit with some very soft strange feeling plastic. :?
Sorry  forgot to take a photo of the suspension arms & drive shaft being assembled but you didn't miss much as it's only 5 pieces.
Any way here's the exhaust attached. not much detail to it or anything else on the underside of the chassis.
Image
This is what the suspension & drive shaft look like, again not a lot of detail etc.
Image
Front suspension & steering rack are very simple pieces.
Image
even more basic Radiator & fixing bracket ( not going to see it once the bonnets on).
Image
Next was the start of the main body. Again very little detail to add. just some seats & a gear stick
Image
The parts for the main shell of the Armoured body.
Image
They soon go together with no major problems. A few gaps to fill.

You can see the strange plastic from the colouring on the side of the hull. it's like it's plastic that's been reused a few times :o
Image
Wheels done very easy just the front disc/hub cap to add.
Image
Parts for the small MG Turret
Image
assembled very easy with not problems. Still need to clean the MG Barrel but it's so thin that it's a worry it will break.
Image
That's it so far. Should get the filling & sanding of any gaps next.

Nice work! :)

That plastic does look weird. But I hope it's not brittle or greasy or anything?
