Re: Sherman Based Vehicles
I used parts from two kits, so it might technically count as two?

Re: Sherman Based Vehicles
Well fellas, I've seen a lot of nice work on this thread. Here's the end of the line for mine before our end-of-month deadline. I've been kept away from the bench by some pressing matters in the real world, and this where the SLA M50 sits now. Base color is on and has cured; I need to do the camo but also need a new airbrush tip for my Aztek before working on that. Since I use enamels and lacquers exclusively, the finishing stage for me lasts for months since I build in at least two weeks' curing time between steps like base paint and applying Glosscote for decals and at least a month after Dullcote before applying oils or anything else. Why not acrylics? Can't really get a feel for them, frankly. They dry far too fast for my taste and I find them un-brushable out of the bottle, so I stick with old-school methods. If the hard stuff is ever banned here in the US, my finishing days are done...my models will be displayed in all their multicolored raw-material form instead.

Very nice finish Greg - I'm not sure I have your patience. Dropping enamels and adopting acrylics is what got me back into modelling. You might be surprised.
@Shaun - Cracking painting Shaun - very very effective - I dread to think how many coats the yellow took
@Chris - Chris I've already commented on the Gallery thread, but that's a Magnificent M10 - Congrats
Great to see Models being finished

Re: Sherman Based Vehicles
Nice work there Greg- I used to use enamels and only gave a couple days in between steps. As far as the deadline just vote to hv it extended.
Shaun- Really impressive paint work there. Like Rob I really don't want to know how many coats of yellow it took.
Chris- Well done.
As for me I have been getting some work done on mine. Need to get some pics together. It's going to be hard getting it done by Saturday night. We will see. Still have the figures and stowage to paint , The base to do and the never ending dilemma about the mud effects.
Rob- What did you do on the Pz III for the mud. Looks good.

Re: Sherman Based Vehicles
Thanks, guys! I have had some bad experiences with finishes by not waiting long enough for things to cure, so I'm really careful about it now. I'd rather set a model aside for a month to cure good and hard than have subsequent steps and materials start lifting the finish beneath. At the stage I'm at now, I ought to have it done by the end of, say, July.

Re: Sherman Based Vehicles
Nice one Greg!
I'm busy hurrying along in the rough direction of the finishing line .
Green.
Okay, it's Model Air 71.019 with MA 71.018 for the dark sections and towards the top and turret a brighter light coat of MA 71.006...and no, I won't tell you that these colours all have RAL numbers so you won't realise I didn't use OD...no wait .
Only 71.019 with darker parts in 71.018=>
With decals and 71.006=>
With decals and a start on the tools (and too much light, it's not as colourful in reality) =>
Best regards
