Re: Panzer III based vehicles
Okay, so here's my contribution inspired by this image from /www.armchairgeneral.com
I'll be using this kit....
It'll be mostly OOTB (famous last words) but I will be adding some Modelkasten tracks and a turned metal barrel (when it arrives). I appreciate it's not the same vehicle, but as I said, the build is inspired by the drawing

Syrian Panzer III
This should be a no-brainer. I will need to scratch a commander's MG mount and I plan to use a Dshk even though some think it might be a besa MG instead. Will also be adding Fruil track as I detest magic track.

Made a start this evening on the wheels. Removed from sprues, cleaned up and sanded. The U in Continentau is changed with a sharp blade to and L on each rubber rim....

Re: Panzer III based vehicles
I'm off to a bad start. It seems that there is no instruction sheet with my Stug III. (Must have got the kit from Steve--just ask Parvis about that one. )
There aren't many parts with this kit, so I should be able to guess my way through most of it.
Can anyone photograph and email a clear set of Dragon/CyberHobby StuG III instructions?
It's the C/D version. But I imagine any of the StuG III instructions will be close enough.
This is where Vinnie's site was the best out there. His photos of instruction sheets saved the day on more than one occasion.
Send them to: ColdBasementModels@gmail.com
Thanks in advance.

Re: Panzer III based vehicles
Right here we begin,
My build is the Pz III A, a resin kit from Sovereign which is my first resin kit.
the parts
Tracks from Model Kasten
the big bits
Instructions?
Not got much in the way of references though!
And just because you can, it finished and ready for the rusted wreck paint job
Sat in a field some where in Eastern Europe, circa 1960
I feel at a slight advantage as I have been signed off work fro another week, as my sinus operation hasn't fully healed yet
I will be finishing my BEF figures, clearing my bench and then starting on the big clean up.
I have PE early Panzer tool brackets and will be raiding my spares for better tools too.
I have a spare turned 37mm barrel too, to throw at the build, and some nice early war figures to complete the mix.
I have some good reference photos and will also be trying the static grass base for a finish, so no pressure then
Updates soon?
