Panzer III Ausf. J, Eastern Front 1944

Evening Gents,
for reasons beyond my understanding I found myself compelled to continue on another ancient build of mine instead of finishing some of the more recent business. Also a reminder to all that we have a permanent shelf queen group build
This is Dragon's old Panzer III kit with Eduard etch and spare Tamiya parts, as well as Master Box figures. According to the photo timestamps I last worked on this in May 2014...back in the days of Modelarmour
I was trying to replicate a particular tank from the Tankograd Panzer III book, thankfully they have the photo on their website.
Naked it looked like this:
My first paint attempt:
I was completely unhappy with the result, which then led to its banishment...
...until last week, when I picked it up, threw it in a bath of oven cleaner and gave it a fresh start:
For the turret numbers I'll need to resort to printing them myself, I hope my cranky old printer agrees to that plan
