I like that a lot Philipp. Nice and clean build too. Seeing as you have the paint out for your Sherman maybe you could put some paint on that monster

Thanks
Anything with lots of metal or resin on it gets the primer from the Games Workshop rattlecan. Which requires good weather, since the smell of that stuff is unbearable

Re: Trumpeter 12.8cm Kanone
Fair enough Philipp. Let's cross our fingers for good weather for you soon
I managed to do some painting anyway. I have a vague idea of doing this as an abandoned gun so I played around with the armoured shields just to see what I could come up with. This is the result....... I think it will work. Of course, now I have the other side to do
By the way, I've been asked before if I would show how I do rust so if any of you guys are interested I've put an SBS in the Tips and Techniques area.
Cheers,
Vincent

I really have enough other stuff that needs some paint first But I'm fairly certain I'll do it this year
As said in the SBS thread, excellent work!

I got some more painting done. This is good fun.
I finished the wheels and the steering part of the gun carraige. I'm calling it a dolly. If its called something else please let me know. Close up of the wheels. Now some close ups of the dolly. Ok, so thats where I'm up to at the moment. Thanks for following along.
Cheers,
Vincent

Re: Trumpeter 12.8cm Kanone
A little more progress.
I've put the armour on the chassis and attached the wheel mounts. The right side armour was done in a different style than the first one just for some variety. The rusty chassis was painted with the chipping fluid method and many, many layers of oil paint. I kept adding different colours until I was satisfied. Along the way, I came across some nice effects which I'll use on other projects. This looks strangely like some sci-fi vehicle More later.
Cheers,
Vincent

Re: Trumpeter 12.8cm Kanone
Well, I've finally finished the build. Down the track I'll do a base but for now I'm calling this one done. I'm pretty happy with it after all the hassles the build part caused. I've sent more pics for the Gallery as well.
Cheers,
Vincent
Thanks for watching. Cheers,
