Another small update on the base. :)
I thought there was a need for something to fill in the dead spot in the corner.
So I came up with this....

and an overall shot

I'm pretty happy with it. ;)

Cheers,
Vincent

That is seriously good work, you have come a long way. Can't wait to see the end result. Not to mention the Bus.

Thanks Michael. :D Sometimes I even surprise myself  I'm hoping to get it to the finish line hence the reason for not much updating of the Bus.

I've been working on the Gondola over the weekend. :)

First off, I'd like to thank Philipp for his invaluable help with giving me some direction on the colour to paint the wagen. :D He is The Man for anything railroad related. Thanks mate. :D

I've seen various versions of this kit built and they are usually painted gray but it turns out that red brown is the standard colour and also the most numerous.
Based on that information I mixed my version of red brown. After painting the base colour I weathered and faded the side walls with oils. Along the way I used brown, red, blue and white oils in no particular order. A coat of flat to seal it and I ended up with this.

First, the outside....( sorry for the poor pics. It's actually more red than it looks)

and a close up.....( this shows up the red colour much better )

Next comes the inside. Of course there is a lot of wear for these hard working wagens....

and again a close up.....

I'm disappointed to miss the deadline but I'm not far away now. :( I guess technically I have finished the Blitz and the light Opel car before the deadline so I could claim I made it...

Thanks for looking in.

Cheers,
Vincent
