Re: 4 wheels, 2 hp driven wagon
Thanks chaps for your support and comments
Still swimming John, the end is in sight
Rob, there is just one wagon, the bright shiny new one is after using Matt's guide for wood finishes, earlier in the blog, which is great for polished wood on rifles and such, I then distressed the wagon extensively, very "Durch den Wind" as Raoul has said, both for the wagon and figures
I just wish I could photo them better as the pictures don't really capture the finish but here goes number 2 of 12
the older figure before the final shading/highlighting
I have over 120 photos on the Photobucket album, it maybe a better perspective on the progress
I wanted to work on my figure painting in 2015 and I have unashamedly "twisted" the GB to be able to do that, but I do feel I am getting there, I need to work on the photos next
My pal and figure painting mentor at work, has seem the figures in the "flesh" and we are both moving forward with such as pots for paint mixes rather than the wet palette
Much better and it keeps a mixed colour live for much longer when you have more to paint or only get to paint every now and then.
Using the Vallejo glaze mix is a superb way to even out all the highlight and shading effects, but you usually end up with every colour and pot out just in case you need them
and my current figure back log
I currently have another 4 figures in my work bag that I am scribing at lunch breaks, after my brisk walk
Desk work is the 21st century killer, so the news programmes keep telling us, so I get in a 20 minute pulse raising trot around the local area in Pudsey as a starter for lunch, then 30 minutes scribing
I have my 2016 project set and ready to roll, but I will attempt to get this one done painted with a base before September, before I am tempted to start it, it may even fit into a GB, if I am lucky
Thanks for popping by
Steve H

Really, really good idea, that. The importance of daily exercise can not be overstated.Steve Hutchinson wrote: I currently have another 4 figures in my work bag that I am scribing at lunch breaks, after my brisk walk

My favorite example is the package delivery guy. There's an obese package delivery guy who eats mountains of garbage and smokes a pack a day. But he's constantly on his feet, lifting, moving, walking up stairs and spends 4 or 5 hours a day in solid, low-level exercise. Back at his office is a skinny guy who doesn't smoke but never leaves his desk and sits on the sofa during all his hours at home.
Who will die first?
Study after study has borne out that the skinny guy will die at a younger age, 9 times out of 10. Exercise it THAT important.
Fun and interesting book about it:
Younger Next Year, Chris Crowley, Henry S. Lodge
It's the only book ever recommended to me by a doctor. He's so impressed he offers to buy back any unwanted copies from his patients.
Oh yeah, figures looking well, too!

Great job Steve!
Never mind what you may perceive as slowness, I still haven't gotten around to continuing .
Best regards

Careful there, Steve. This many figures in one scene and you may find yourself mass producing clay roof tiles!

thanks for popping by
and you are right Shawn one or two others, so I thought I would pop them into a blog of their own
It does mean I will have to get some painting done and the GB might actually benefit too.
More later?
